Athlone and Ballinasloe eateries nominated for take-away awards
Two local restaurants - one in Athlone and one in Ballinasloe - have been nominated for the 'Just Eat' Takeaway Awards which will be held in early 2022.
Ken's Oriental Restaurant in Athlone was nominated in the 'Best Chinese' category, while Italian restaurant Venezia was nominated in the 'Best in Connacht' section.
Irish comedian, writer and actor, Joanne McNally will host this year's awards, and the public are being invited to vote for their local takeaway online at, Just-Eat.ie/awards, before December 31st, for a chance to win free takeaway for a year.
A total of 188 restaurants and convenience retailers have been nominated for the 26 awards that are up for grabs at the upcoming event.
Amanda Roche-Kelly, Managing Director at Just Eat Ireland, said the restaurant industry had "continued to show great resilience and innovation in response to the challenges of 2021," and that the awards were "about shining a light on the hard-working owners of restaurants and convenience retailers right across the country who are continuously adapting their business model to meet the demands of their customer."
