Marist granted replay with Naas CBS

The Leinster Schools Senior Football 'A' quarter-final between Marist College and Naas CBS will be replayed.

Correspondence issued this afternoon (Monday) by Leinster GAA Post-Primary Schools secretary Noel Delaney confirmed that there would be a rematch.

The replay decision has been made due to Naas introducing more than the permitted number of substitutes in last Saturday's game which was won by the Kildare outfit.

"An issue occurred in this game last Saturday in Kinnegad in that Naas CBS used six substitutes. Following a Leinster Schools CCC meeting this afternoon, it has been agreed/decided this game will be replayed – to be played next Saturday, January 22nd," wrote Mr Delaney.

The venue for the replay has yet to be confirmed but the throw-in time is 1pm. It may be played in Kinnegad again, with Tullamore another possible option.

Two Kildare teams - Scoil Mhuire, Clane and Maynooth SLS - are already through to the semi-finals in the race for the Bro. Bosco Cup. The other team in the last four is Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore who defeated the combination side Wexford Schools after extra-time last Sunday.
