Have your say on new county heritage and biodiversity plan

Westmeath County Council are inviting us to have our say on a new heritage and biodiversity plan, which will be their statement of intent in relation to the heritage and biodiversity of Westmeath and will set out key areas of focus for the next five years.

Initial consultation on the plan has commenced and submissions are invited until July 8.

Have your say on what you think the issues are concerning Westmeath’s heritage and biodiversity.

Public information sessions on the preparation of the Heritage and Biodiversity Plan are scheduled as follows.

Moate Library, Thursday June 2, 6.30-7.30pm

Mullingar Library, Tuesday June 7, 6.30-7.30pm

Castlepollard Library, Thursday June 16, 6.30-7.30pm

Athlone Library, Tuesday June 21, 6.30-7.30pm

Zoom meetings are also planned on Wednesday June 15, 7-8pm, and on Monday June 20 7-8pm.

Those wishing to attend one of the online meetings are asked to email heritage@westmeathcoco.ie for the link.

Following the initial phase of public consultation, a draft heritage and biodiversity plan will be prepared for Westmeath.

The draft plan will then go out for consultation.
