McCartan and Heslin named on Tailteann Cup Team of the Week

For the second week in a row Sam McCartan has beeen named on the GAA.ie's Tailteann Cup Team of the Week.

The young St Loman's man followed up his man of the match performance against Laois with another impressive showing against Carlow in Netwatch Cullen Park last Sunday. His three second half points helped Jack Cooney's men see off the challenge of the home side.

He is joined on the Team of the Week by his St Loman's colleague John Heslin. Once again Heslin outlined his importance to Westmeath by scoring 1-9 of his team's 1-21 total against Carlow.

Heslin is the joint second highest scorer in the secondary competition with 1-14 from Westmeath's first two matches. Currently topping the scoring charts is Offaly veteran Niall McNamee (1-16), although the Faithful County have played three games.

Westmeath and Offaly meet in the semi-final of the competition in Croke Park on Sunday, June 19.
