It Is In Us All, a new psychological thriller which stars Rhys Mannion (19), from Kiltoom, Athlone, had its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh last Saturday.

Written and directed by Antonia Campbell-Hughes, the film is an atmospheric and thought-provoking piece about the aftermath of a shocking car accident in a remote corner of Donegal.

The two lead roles in the film are played by Cosmo Jarvis and Rhys Mannion. Filmed in late 2020, it's the feature length debut for the local actor, who is a former student of Athlone Community College.

In March, Rhys travelled to Texas for the world premiere of It Is In Us All at the South by Southwest film festival in Austin. The film won a 'Special Jury Prize for Extraordinary Cinematic Vision' at the prestigious festival in the US.

Some of Rhys' friends and relatives were in attendance at the Irish premiere in Galway's Town Hall Theatre on Saturday evening, and after the screening he joined the film's writer and director, Campbell-Hughes, and its producer, Emma Foley, on stage for a question and answer session.

Filming recently started on Rhys' latest project, a television drama series for RTÉ called Clean Sweep.
