Illustrated talk on birds of Lough Ree for Heritage Week
The birds of Lough Ree and the Mid-Shannon Callows will be front and centre at an event to mark National Heritage Week in Athlone.
Join Owen Murphy, NPWS Warden for Lough Ree and the Mid-Shannon Callows, and an avid birdwatcher, for an illustrated talk on Thursday, August 18 from 6.45pm to 7.45pm in Athlone Library.
Owen has worked on the Curlew Conservation programme and and is very knowledgeable on the birdlife of Lough Ree and the Mid Shannon Callows area.
He will share his knowledge and photographs of the bird species found here as well as tips for birdwatching in the area.
