Cool and breezy day with some drizzle and rain

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will extend across Connacht, Munster and parts of Leinster this morning and will turn a bit heavier in the afternoon. It will be drier in the northeast with scattered showers and occasional sunny periods. Breezy with a moderate to fresh west to northwest wind, strong and gusty at times in the southwest. Cool with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees.

Patchy light rain and drizzle in Connacht and Munster early tonight will gradually clear away to the southwest overnight and the clear spells and scattered showers in the northeast will extend across the rest of the country. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds will ease light by morning and lowest temperatures will range between 5 and 10 degrees.

Wednesday will bring sunny spells and scattered showers. There will be a light to moderate northwesterly breeze and temperatures will reach 11 to 15 degrees.

Mostly dry on Wednesdani night with clear spells and just isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees. Patches of mist are possible in light winds.

Mostly dry on Thursday but unsettled on Friday and Saturday with wet and breezy weather at times. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in a light north to northwest wind.

Dry with clear spells early in the night on Thursday but cloud will increase and rain will move into the west and northwest overnight. Light and variable winds at first, becoming southerly and increasing moderate to fresh in the west and northwest. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

The forecast for Friday is for wet and breezy conditions with rain moving east across the country, heavy at times. Clearer conditions with scattered showers will follow from the northwest later. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with a fresh and gusty southerly wind, veering westerly after the rain.

Early Friday night will be mostly dry with clear spells and isolated showers. Cloud will increase overnight and rain will develop in the west and southwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees with a moderate southwest to west wind.

Rain is forecast for most areas on Saturday morning and afternoon but it will become drier in the evening. This will be followed by sunshine and showers on Sunday. Temperatures at the weekend are expected to reach 13 to 17 degrees.
