Athlone road reopens following fatal crash

The Kilmartins Roundabout area on the Dublin Road, and Junction 10 on the N6, in Athlone have been reopened following a fatal single-vehicle crash in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday.)

A motorcyclist in his twenties died following the incident, and a post mortem has yet to be carried out.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Kilmartins Roundabout area of Athlone between 2am and 2:30am are also asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
