GAA clubs back fundraiser for young member with cerebral palsy

Milltown and Millmore Gaels have asked the wider GAA community to get behind a fundraiser for one of their young members.

Eight year old Aaron Gaffey was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was one. He has outgrown his old mobility trike and needs a new one, which costs in the region of €3,000.

The mobility trike is a vital piece of equipment for Aaron and his family as it helps keep his hamstrings stretched. His old trike was gifted to him and his family are now gifting it on to another child in need.

In order to raise funds to help with the cost of the new trike, Aaron's father Thomas is doing a sponsored climb of Croagh Patrick along with other family members tomorrow, June 24.

In a press release, Miltown GAA and Millmore Gaels GAA, said that the clubs “are very privileged to have Thomas and Nicole and their sons Aaron and Rio Gaffey as members” and asked the wider GAA community to get behind the fundraiser.

The GoFundMe page set up for donations will remain open until June 30.
