Athlone Town women to face Sligo Rovers in FAI Cup semi final

Athlone Town have been drawn away Sligo Rovers in the semi finals of the Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup.

Athlone are bidding to reach the cup final for a second year running after facing Shelbourne in last November's decider in Tallaght.

Ciaran Kilduff's team booked their semi final place with a dramatic penalty shootout win against Peamount United in Lissywollen last weekend.

The other semi final will be a Dublin derby between Shamrock Rovers and the reigning cup holders Shelbourne.

The two semi finals will be played on the week ending Sunday, October 15.
