South Roscommon GAA club reveals major project plans
A South Roscommon GAA club has revealed exciting plans for a major new development encompassing a new pitch, a spectator stand, walkway and a sensory garden.
Clann na nGael, based in Johnstown, has signalled its intention to submit a proposal to Roscommon County Council in a newly published planning notice.
The popular local club is hoping to put in place a second playing pitch with a 1.4 metres high metal fence, a 45m seated stand and a two metre wide walkway around the boundaries of the grounds.
In addition, a sensory garden with a 950 metre length of solar lighting, along with a set of 13 high ball stops and four 24 metre high poles to provide flood lighting to 350 Lux Standard would be installed as part of the project.
The planning notice is in the name of Clann na nGael Chairman Gerard Pettit. The club has a fortnight to officially submit plans to Roscommon County Council following the publication of the planning notice.
A previous plan lodged on September 5 was deemed an incompleted application by Roscommon County Council.
