Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has appointed Athlone's Julie Ennis as Head of UK Occupier.

In her new role, Julie will be responsible for leading CBRE’s occupier strategies to drive continued growth across all aspects of its occupier business in the UK, maintaining the firm’s market-leading position and expanding its occupier insights to its investor clients.

Julie joins CBRE with over 25 years of experience in the banking and property services industries. She spent more than 20 years at the Bank of Ireland, where she held progressive leadership positions spanning sales, product & proposition development, strategy and operations across retail banking, corporate banking and wealth management advisory. She is a Chartered Banker and an MBA graduate of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

She has been at Sodexo since 2019, serving as CEO of its €700m Corporate Services and Energy & Resources segments for the UK & Ireland. During this time, Julie led multiple business initiatives including the successful launch of its workplace value proposition to clients across the life sciences, tech, media and telecoms, and financial and professional services sectors.

Julie joins CBRE with decades of leadership experience, allowing her to truly understand the C-Suite and their evolving business priorities. This, along with her notable professional accolades, including being awarded Image Magazine & PWC CEO of the Year at the 2022 Businesswoman of the Year Awards, makes her the ideal leader to propel our occupier growth strategy forward.

Back in 2022, Julie was crowned CEO of the Year at the Image Businesswoman of the Year Awards, an accolade that celebrates Ireland’s foremost female innovators and changemakers. She was then CEO of Corporate Services across the UK & Ireland and Country President for Ireland at Sodexo, one of the region’s leading on-site services providers, and was splitting her time between Athlone and London.

Accepting that honour, she stated that it was “a privilege to accept the award because she believed that it is recognition for the 10,000 people that she leads”.
