Run with Ray to take place in Athlone next week

RTÉ Radio 1’s The Ray D’Arcy Show hits the road next week with runs planned in Athlone, Tralee, Galway, Navan, and Dublin.

The Athlone run takes place on Wednesday of next week, May 22, and begins and ends at the Regional Sports Centre, beside the bike rack. The course will cover two laps of the activity trail and a section of the Greenway, run anticlockwise.

Ray D'Arcy will broadcast his popular afternoon radio show from the Regional Sports Centre on the day of the Athlone race, and will join the starting line at 5.30pm with local runners who have signed up to Run with Ray over the 5km course.

The Athlone run is open to runners, joggers or walkers who are asked to register for what promises to be a fun afternoon of craic, conversation and community

The aim of the Run with Ray event is to get communities outdoors and moving, and as the start date gets closer, Ray D'Arcy will be chatting on his radio show with runners from around the country who plan to join him at one of the five scheduled events.

As well as hosting Run with Ray in Athlone next week, the other four events take place in Tralee Town Park (May 20), University of Galway (May 21), Blackwater Park, Navan (May 24) and Marlay Park, Dublin (May 25).
