Funeral details announced for Athlone man killed in Offaly crash

The funeral of an Athlone man who was killed in a road traffic collision in Offaly this week will take place on Saturday.

Stephen O'Reilly, who was aged in his mid-30s, lost his life in a single-vehicle collision on L1005 at Bracknagh, near Clonbullogue, shortly after 11pm on Monday.

Mr O'Reilly, of Beechpark West, Athlone, and formerly of Greystones, Dublin, is sadly missed by his loving fiancée Aoife, daughter Kayleigh, father Joe, mother Catherine, sister Michaela, Catriona and Shamini, best friends Mark, Eddie, Fidgy and Shannen and their children, relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved brother James and his granddad, Michael.

The deceased will be reposing at his residence, 9 Beechpark West, tomorrow (Thursday) from 12 noon until 6pm.

His funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan, on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in Coosan Cemetery.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the collision on Monday, including those who may have video footage (including dash cam footage), or recordings from along the route at the time, to contact them.
