GAA: Dublin and Kilkenny reach Leinster final as Galway's season sends

Dublin and Kilkenny will contest this season's Leinster Hurling Final after their victories on Sunday.

Dublin put an end to Galway's summer with a 2-27 to 1-24 victory in Salthill.

Dublin got off to a flying start with a goal from Seán Currie in the opening minute.

Despite a second Dublin goal coming from Donal Burke, Galway took a 0-19 to 2-11 lead into the interval.

David Burke's red card in the first half meant the hosts played the majority of the game with 14 men.

Dublin took advantage of the extra man, with Burke scoring 1-10 in the game, as they powered through to the final.

The Cats had one point to spare over Wexford after a 1-24 to 2-20 win with TJ Reid's penalty proving crucial in the end.

Despite the loss, Wexford go into the All Ireland series after a 3rd placed finish.

It finished Antrim 4-22 Carlow 2-22 in the relegation play-off at Corrigan Park.

That means Antrim remains in the Leinster Championship while Carlow return to the Joe McDonagh Cup next season.

In Munster, Limerick and Clare will once again meet in the final.

Waterford couldn't get past the All Ireland champions who came away from the Gaelic Grounds with a 0-30 point to 2-14 victory.

Shane Bennett gave Waterford hope with his goal in the 16th minute, but it was Limerick who pushed on with a 0-14 to 1-6 lead at half-time.

While Waterford threw everything at Limerick, with another goal from Bennett, Limerick kept the scoreboard ticking as Davy Fitzgerald's team ended their season with defeat.

The Banner booked their place thanks to a 1-24 to 0-24 point win over Tipperary at Semple Stadium.

Clare's goal came from Diarmuid Ryan who scored 1-2 as they will aim to overcome their defeat to Limerick in April.

Those results mean Cork go through to the All Ireland series after a 3rd placed finish in the round robin.
