No increase in cost of tickets for club championship games

The cost of match tickets for the upcoming club football and hurling championships in Westmeath will remain the same as 2023 and it will again be €20 for county finals, the same as last year.

A season ticket for all championship games in Westmeath can be purchased at a cost of €200 by emailing administrator@westmeathgaa.ie

The pice of a single ticket for group games remains at €10, while a double-header for the group stages is €12. Student and OAP tickets will cost €5, while an adult plus a child is €13 and an adult plus two or more children is €15 (for group stage games).

Supporters will also be able to purchase a group ticket for their club games at a cost of €40 and it will cover them for each of the group games involving their club.

There will be weekend tickets available for supporters to purchase also.

Speaking at last Thursday’s meeting in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Westmeath’s Head of Operations Patrick Doherty confirmed there will be no change in the ticket prices this season.

While a tap and go system allowing credit and debit cards to be used will be in place at venues across the county, supporters are being urged to purchase their tickets in advance and have them when they go to games.

“Our preference is that you purchase the tickets in advance and have them with you to be scanned,” he said.

Westmeath GAA chairman Frank Mescall said there has been a major improvement in people buying their tickets in advance of games.

However, some supporters have been turning up at venues with no ticket. There is no option to use cash at any venue for championship games.
