Moate choirs hit the right note at Limerick Choral Festival

Two Moate choirs were singing from the same hymn sheet as they received awards for their talent at the Limerick Choral Festival over the weekend.

The festival took place across Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1, and aimed to promote the development of choral music.

Moate Community School was awarded the 1st place prize in the Post-Primary Schools’ (Mixed Voice) Competition.

A total of 110 students made the journey to Limerick to take part in the event.

Another local choir, An Cór Lár Tíre, received a certificate of Merit, as well as winning win 3rd place.
