Two men (20s) injured following three-vehicle collision in Co Kildare

Two men were injured following a three-vehicle collision in Athy, Co. Kildare on Thursday.

The incident, involving a car and two motorcycles,  happened on the R415 at Boley Little shortly after 7.30 pm.

One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 20s, was brought to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The second motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, to be treated for injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

There were no other injuries reported.

The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct an examination of the scene. There are local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.15pm and 7.45pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
