Leinster gold medals won by Athlone AC

The Leinster Athletics Juvenile Championships were held in Tullamore last weekend, with some spectacular results for Athlone Athletics Club.

Philip Offorjama claimed an incredible double with gold in the 100m (11.18) and 200m (22.74) sprints, adding to the gold he won with his teammates in the Leinster relay championships last month.

Another member of that team scored an individual gold last weekend with Philip Finnan winning the long jump with a leap of 6.30 metres.

There were strong performances from many of the club's athletes over the course of the weekend. Also competing in the long jump were Mary Harris and Robert Kwak. In the sprints Addision Flower, Alicija Dabrowska, Tristan Dolan, Robert Kwak, Alex Connor and Maeve Kelly (PB) all performed strongly.

The performances over the weekend were a just reward for the hard work the athletes and their coaches have put in over the season.
