Jamie Osborne called up to the British and Irish Lions

Ireland versatile back Jamie Osbrone has been called up to the British and Irish Lions squad in Australia.

Osbrone was named to start at outside centre for Ireland against Portugal on Saturday, but he will now make his way to Andy Farrell's side.

This follows an injury to full-back Blair Kinghorn, who picked up a knee injury against the Brumbies on Wednesday.

In a ststament, the Lions said the Scottish full back received positive news following a scan.

The Lions medical team will manage his return to training over the coming days.

Osbrone can cover both inside and outside centre, full back, and the wing.

He played at outisde centre for Ireland last weekend in the win over Georgia.

Connacht's Hugh Gavin will now make his debut for Ireland at 13, with Munster winger Calvin Nash among the replacements.
