Roscommon team named for provincial semi-final
Roscommon senior football manager Mark Dowd has named his team for the Connacht semi-final encounter with Mayo in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park Castlebar on Sunday at 4pm.
The team shows one enforced change to that which defeated New York in the provincial quarter-final with Colm Neary replacing Daire Cregg who is expected to miss the game through suspension.
Cregg was red carded during the 24 point win over New York for which he received a one game ban and is now set to sit out the semi-final on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Mayo have made four changes to the team which defeated London in their Connacht quarter-final fixture in Ruislip.
Andy Moran's selection includes teen sensation Kobe McDonald, who is set to make his senior championship debut, while another highly regarded young player, Darragh Beirne, is on the substitutes' bench.
The teams met at the same venue in March when Mayo inflicted a heavy defeat on an understrength Roscommon team in a Allianz National Football League Division 1 fixture.
The winners of Sunday's semi-final contest will play either Galway or Leitrim in the Connacht senior football final on Sunday, May 10.
The two counties meet in Pairc Seán MacDiarmada on Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm.
