Elderly pedestrian dies after Midlands road collision
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in the Midlands on Tuesday morning which claimed the life of a male in his 80s.
The collision, involving a car and a pedestrian occurred on Earl Street, Longford, at approximately 10am on Tuesday, April 28.
The pedestrian was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but was pronounced deceased yesterday evening.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 9.45am and 10.15am on Tuesday, April 28, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
