Two children on trolleys in Portiuncula this morning
Two of nine admitted patients awaiting beds at Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe this morning are children, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
Six of the patients were in the Emergency Department and three on wards, the union said.
Nationally, 613 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO trolley watch. Of this figure, 392 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 221 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
The figures show eight admitted patients in the Emergency Department of the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar awaiting beds, while there is no patients on trolleys in the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
