Moriarty claims Pro-Am success in Tipperary

Glasson Lakehouse professional, Colm Moriarty started his competitive season in fine style when winning the Premier Pro-Am at Thurles Golf Club.

The Athlone golfer claimed the honours shooting a six under round of 66 to win the tournament by two shots.

This was the second year of the event which is hosted in support of the Tipperary senior hurling team with the tournament featuring PGA professionals competing individually, alongside a team contest.

Moriarty continues his successful run on the national golfing circuit having claimed the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Irish Club Professional Championship at the Palmerstown House Estate in Johnstown, County Kildare in September of last year.

He also savoured golfing success on the double when winning the Limerick and Newcastle West Pro-Am competitions in August of last year.
