Westmeath players bringing cup to Athlone this evening

The champions of Leinster will be bringing the Delaney Cup to Athlone this evening (Monday).

In a social media post, Westmeath GAA said the cup will be going 'on tour' in the county after yesterday's unforgettable triumph over Dublin in the provincial decider.

The Delaney Cup is expected to be coming to Athlone GAA Club at around 7.30 this evening - but Westmeath GAA said the timing is approximate and more details will become available as the day goes on.

Before it comes to Páirc Chiaráin, Athlone, the cup is expected to be in Gonoud's Bar, Tyrrellspass, from 3-5pm, and in Multyfarnham GAA, home club of captain Ronan Wallace, at 6pm.

Westmeath GAA is encouraging the public to "come out and show your support of the lads".

Athlone GAA Club has stressed that all local clubs and Westmeath supporters are welcome to Páirc Chiaráin this evening. If possible, those planning to attend are encouraged to car share and to park away from the ground in such nearby locations as Athlone Regional Sports Centre.
