Murray to start Connacht's BKT quarter-final contest

Darragh Murray has been named in the Connacht rugby team for the province's BKT United Rugby Championship quarter-final with Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium, on Friday night, at 7.45pm.

The Brideswell native, who signed a two year contract extension with the province at the start of the year, has been listed to start in his customary second row position as Connacht travel to Scotland for the knockout phase of this year's competition.

Connacht booked their place in the quarter-final stage of the BKT United Rugby Championship courtesy of a bonus point win away to Edinburgh in the final round of regular season fixtures. This victory saw the province secure an eighth place league table finish and a place in the latter stages of the competition.

Connacht play a Glasgow Warriors team who topped the championship table at the end of the league phase with 13 wins from their 18 games played.

In their previous meeting, a last gasp try from Sean Jansen saw Connacht earn a dramatic victory over their quarter-final opponents during the regular season at the Dexcom Stadium in February.

Meanwhile, Robbie Henshaw has been listed as a replacement for Leinster's BKT United Rugby Championship quarter-final against the Fidelity SecureDrive Lions in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, May 30, at 8pm.

The Athlone centre was replaced by Jamie Osborne after 50 minutes of Leinster's Investec Champions Cup final loss to Bordeaux and must be content with a substitute's berth this weekend as the province aims for a return to winning ways.

Munster have also progressed to the knockout phase of the BKT United Rugby Championship and travel to South Africa to play the Vodacom Bulls in Loftus Versfield Pretoria on Saturday, May 30, at 12pm.
