Second Athlone Boots store expected to open this month

A second Boots store is expected to open in Athlone Towncentre this month.

Work is said to be progressing on the fit-out of the store unit, and it's hoped that it will be ready for opening later in June.

The health and beauty retail chain has taken out a 10-year lease on a 3,500 square foot unit on the ground floor of the Athlone Towncentre, in the unit formerly occupied by McGorisk's Pharmacy.

Boots has an existing and long-established store in the Golden Island Shopping Centre,.

At the time of the announcement of its upcoming addition to the Towncentre, Boots said: "Athlone will now have two Boots stores offering the brand’s popular pharmacy and prescription service".
