St Peter's FC appoint Lennon as new manager

St Peter's FC has confirmed the appointment of Dermot Lennon as the club's senior 'A' team manger for the 2026/27 season.

The former Athlone Town player and manager replaces Mark McConnell who departed the role at the end of the club's CCFL Senior Division campaign in May.

The club achieved treble success in the 2024/25 season, winning the CCFL Senior Division, Counties Cup and Paddy Cotter Cup, but were unable to repeat their heroics this season.

Lennon has had two stints as manager of Athlone Town men's first team and also served the Director of Football role at the League of Ireland First Division Club.

Announcing his appointment, St Peter's FC said that the Lennon would bring "a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to the role".

"Dermie will be a familiar face to many of our players, having worked with several of them at different stages of their footballing journeys.

"Dermie's passion for the game, combined with his extensive experience, both on and off the pitch, makes him a fantastic addition to St Peter's FC as we look towards the new season," the club said.
