Athlone Art Gallery hosts exhibit by local hotelier and artist
Athlone Art Gallery is hosting Lost in Colour, a new exhibition by renowned Midlands artist and hotelier Johnny O’Sullivan.
The exhibition officially opening of the exhibit took place on Thursday, June 19, at The Village @ Burgess, with the exhibition running for a total of six weeks.
Johnny has earned recognition for his bold, colour-saturated paintings that celebrate the beauty of the Irish landscape. His distinctive style combines vivid hues, rich textures and expressive compositions, created through a blend of acrylic and watercolour on canvas.
Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and natural beauty of the Midlands and the southwest of Ireland, his work captures the drama of sunrises and sunsets. Texture plays a central role in his artistic process, adding depth and movement to each piece.
Among the featured works is Big Bouquet, a striking example of the artist’s signature use of colour and form. Johnny's work has also been featured in Irish Arts Review.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Johnny O’Sullivan serves as Group Operations Director of the Hodson Bay Hotel Group.
