Judges announced for Athlone Towncentre-sponsored fashion contest at Galway Races

Fashion and lifestyle content creator Sarah Battle has been announced as the guest judge for the Athlone Towncentre-sponsored 'Friday's Most Stylish' competition at this year's Galway Races summer festival.

The annual fashion contest at the Ballybrit course has been sponsored by Athlone Towncentre for well over a decade.

This year it will be held on Friday, July 31, and Sarah will join the head judge, fashion stylist and presenter Marietta Doran, in assessing the glamour on display on the day.

This year's winner will receive a prize of a €3,000 Athlone Towncentre gift card, along with a luxury two-night break in the four-star Sheraton Athlone Hotel in a deluxe tower room with dinner and spa treatments.

Last year's competition was won by Athlone woman Clodagh Cosgrove.

Athlone Towncentre General Manager Shirley Delahunt said: "It's an absolute privilege to be involved in highlighting the incredible style that the Galway Races are renowned for.

"We were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with the Galway Races way back in 2013 and to present the 'Friday's Most Stylish' competition to racegoers; how it has grown and developed over the years would have been beyond our wildest expectations.

"The competition has exploded in popularity and we expect that this year will be no different," she added.

"It's important to us that 'Friday's Most Stylish' is accessible to all and that we champion the notion that style does not always mean excessive cost. We have seen some amazing winners through the years who have incorporated high street, accessible brands into their outfit.

"We love to see high street elements blended with pieces from boutiques, Irish designers or pieces which people may already have in their own wardrobes."
