Local man appointed as general manager of Sheraton Athlone Hotel

Sheraton Athlone Hotel has announced the appointment of Mark Glennon as General Manager.

The hotel said his appointment marked an exciting new chapter with Mark becoming the latest internal leader to take on this important role. Having built his career within the Hodson Bay Group and Sheraton Athlone Hotel, he has progressed through a variety of leadership positions, developing extensive expertise in hotel operations, guest experience, and people leadership.

A passionate advocate for empowering teams and encouraging a positive workplace culture, Mark is committed to building on the hotel's outstanding reputation for excellence while continuing to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest.

Mark holds a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Technological University of the Shannon and is a strong believer in lifelong learning. Beyond the hospitality industry, he also volunteers with the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps, where he supports the development of volunteer leaders across Ireland through management, leadership and healthcare training.

As he takes on this new role, Mark is focused on supporting the continued growth of the Sheraton Athlone team, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring the hotel remains the destination of choice for guests visiting the heart of Ireland.
