McSharry's to relocate from Mardyke Street to Golden Island store in Athlone
The McSharry's pharmacy on Mardyke Street in Athlone will be relocating early next month to its existing pharmacy at Belhavel, Golden Island, where the two pharmacies will become one.
The move will commence on Tuesday, August 4, and in preparation for it McSharry's recently doubled the size of its pharmacy dispensary in Golden Island as part of a significant investment.
The expanded facility will now accommodate the combined team from both McSharry's pharmacies, and will continue delivering an efficient, professional, and caring dispensing service while enhancing the range of services being offered.
Owner Ray McSharry paid a warm tribute to all of the customers of the Mardyke Street branch for their loyalty and support over the course of more than 30 years.
"I want to say a big thank you to all of our Mardyke Street customers. It has been our privilege to care for you and your families, and we remain committed to providing the personal, professional pharmacy service you have always received," he said.
"I want to reassure everyone that we are not closing – we are simply moving!"
Members of staff making the short move from the Mardyke Street branch include its supervising pharmacist for the past seven years, Paul Hennelly.
"We are really looking forward to this move, and we hope to welcome all of our loyal Mardyke Street customers to our new location in Athlone," Paul said.
In order to ensure a seamless transition, the phone number of the Mardyke Street branch will automatically divert to the Golden Island pharmacy, and any GP prescriptions to the Mardyke Street ("Coleman's") Healthmail account will continue to arrive safely.
"In short, you don't need to do anything except visit us at our new location," said Ray McSharry. "The move also brings several benefits. Golden Island offers easier access, more convenient parking, and longer opening hours, making it even easier for you to access the pharmacy services you need."
The opening hours of the Golden Island store are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6.30pm, Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, and Sundays and Bank Holidays from 12 noon to 6pm.
Although the address is changing, McSharry's pharmacy's commitment to its customers remains exactly the same.
"The familiar faces you know and trust will continue to be here to provide expert advice, support and healthcare whenever you need us," said Ray.
