Local Credit Union to mark first year
West-Midlands Credit Union will mark an anniversary milestone serving the community in Athlone with a members' celebration at its Irishtown branch on Friday from 11am-3pm.
The first anniversary milestone reflects the successful merger of St. Jarlath’s Credit Union and Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union, incorporating 14 branches across Westmeath, Roscommon and Galway.
Members attending the 'One Year Together, 60 Years Supporting the Community' can enjoy refreshments, meet members of staff and learn more about the products and services available from their local Credit Union.
Reflecting on the milestone, John Doyle CEO of West-Midlands Credit Union said the first year of the merger has been "one of growth, collaboration and opportunity".
"Since merging, and rebranding under a new name, the Credit Union has built on its strengths, creating a larger organisation with enhanced services, greater accessibility and an even stronger commitment to supporting the financial wellbeing of its members.
"While much has changed over the past year, one thing has remained constant, a commitment to putting members first. As a member-owned financial cooperative, every decision made is centred on delivering value, supporting communities and helping members achieve their financial goals.
"Members can access a wide range of financial products and services designed to support every stage of life. Whether you’re purchasing your first home, planning a family holiday, financing home improvements, purchasing a new car or simply building financial security for the future, their experienced team is here to help.
"The success of our merger is reflected not only in the services we now offer but in the continued trust our members place in us every day. As we celebrate this anniversary, we are looking ahead with confidence and remain committed to providing accessible, affordable financial services that make a real difference to people’s lives.
"Everyone is welcome to visit their local West-Midlands Credit Union branch during the anniversary celebrations to discover what’s new, speak with their friendly team and celebrate this exciting milestone," the CEO said.
Services offered by the Credit Union include competitive personal loans, home improvement loans, car loans, mortgages, savings accounts, current accounts, online and mobile banking and financial planning services tailored to members’ individual needs.
