The Bailey pub in Athlone has permanently shut its doors

A popular pub on Athlone west side has permanently closed its doors this week.

As of Thursday, August 20, The Bailey Gastro Bar, located at 2 Pearse Street, has permanently shut.

The local pub has an associated B&B business, which remains open for bookings.

A notice on the window of the business reads: "This pub is permanently closed from this date 20/08/2026. For B&B inquiries, call this number 0906455846. Apologies for any inconvenience."
