Westmeath success at RDS Dublin Horse Show

Westmeath breeders and exhibitors enjoyed a notable success at this year’s RDS Dublin Horse Show, with Swaziland Star taking Reserve Champion in the Traditionally Bred Young Horse Class.

The impressive young horse was exhibited by Maura Rooney of Moyvore, while her owner and breeder is Brian Daly of Bishopstown, Moate.

Swaziland Star’s success provides another welcome boost for the Westmeath equestrian community and highlights the quality of horses being bred in the county.

The mare is by Steeped in Luck, a sire standing at Tullaghansleek Stud in Castletown Geoghegan.

The Reserve Champion award at the prestigious Dublin show represents a significant achievement for both Rooney and Daly, whose hard work and dedication have helped bring Swaziland Star to the national stage.

The result will be warmly welcomed locally, with the success showcasing the strength of traditional horse breeding in the Westmeath area.

The RDS Dublin Horse Show remains one of Ireland’s premier equestrian events, attracting breeders, riders and competitors from across the country.
