Local artist’s first solo exhibition

Mount Temple artist Rosaleen Heavin is set to launch her 'Echoes of the West' exhibition in Athlone Art Gallery next month.

The collection will be available to view from Friday, October 2, to mid-November at Athlone Art Gallery at The Village @ Burgess.

This body of work offers a vibrant response to the landscapes and atmosphere of the west coast of the island.

Visual artist Rosaleen Heavin channels her love of colour into evocative explorations of the West of Ireland. Using a dynamic mix of inks, acrylics, and oils, she translates the joy and peace of her travels into richly textured, atmospheric pieces.

Before dedicating herself fully to her creative practice, Rosaleen worked as a mental health nurse, a background that subtly informs the therapeutic, peaceful essence of her art.

She holds a BA (Hons) from ATU CCAM) and an MA from the Limerick School of Art and Design. Her talent has been recognised nationally, with selections for the RDS Student Art Awards and Origins Waterford, alongside numerous group exhibitions across the Midlands.

A passionate community advocate, Rosaleen has also devised and facilitated impactful community art initiatives, including Our Vision Our Voice in the Midlands and New Shoots in Waterford. This showcase marks her highly anticipated first solo exhibition.
