Volunteers needed in search for man missing at Lough Ennell

Friends and leaders of the search for the young man missing at Lough Ennell have called on anyone willing and available to help in the search.

In a request issued yesterday, they said: “Tomorrow (Tuesday) onwards is going to be critical in the search for the young man in Lilliput.

“We’re urgently looking for anyone who has access to a boat and is available to help with the search.

“If you have a boat, kayak or a drone and some free time, or know someone who might be able to help, it would be hugely appreciated.

“Every bit of help could make a real difference.”

The search team are looking for three to four people per boat to scan the water.

When boats are launched, the team request that any vehicles or trailers in the car park are removed to make room for emergency crews and their vehicles.

Volunteers have to sign in and life jackets will be made available.

Cedarwood House B&B and Lilliput Adventure Centre have offered free accommodation to volunteers who are travelling.
