Production in the manufacturing industries up 54%, CSO says
Domestic production in the manufacturing industries was up 54.7% in April, May and June 2026, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
When compared with the same period in 2025, domestic production in the manufacturiwng industries fell by 3.9%.
In the month to June alone, domestic production in the manufacturing industries increased by 4%. On an annual basis, domestic production was 17.3% higher in June.
Gregg Patrick, Statistician in the Enterprise Statistics Division of the CSO, said: “The CSO is today publishing a Domestic Industrial Production Index release for the seventh time. This series release on the Domestic Production Index gives an overview of domestic manufacturing activity within Ireland and is published quarterly. This release complements the existing monthly Industrial Production and Turnover Index, which describes all industrial production attributable to Ireland. This Frontier Series release focuses only on what is being produced domestically in Ireland by excluding the parts of production which take place outside of Ireland as a result of outsourcing or contract manufacturing.
Overall, domestic production in manufacturing industries increased by 54.7% from April to June (Q2) 2026 when compared with the previous three-month period of January to March (Q1) 2026. Between Q2 2025 and Q2 2026, domestic production in manufacturing industries fell by 3.9%. In June 2026, domestic production in manufacturing industries rose by 4.0% in the month, while on an annual basis it went up by 17.3%.
