Tang talisman heads the Westmeath senior football championship scoring charts

Tang forward Aidan Burke heads the scoring charts following the completion of the second round of fixtures in the Westmeath senior football championship.

Burke scored nine points during his team's narrow defeat to Moate All Whites bringing his tally to 0-18 points ahead of Tang's meeting with Caulry in the third round of championship fixtures.

Moate All Whites talisman Robbie Forde lies in second on the overall scoring charts, his 1-5 contribution to his team's win over Tang proving pivotal to the game's outcome. The county player now has 1-14 accumulated in his two championship games played, the All Whites facing Killucan in their next outing.

St Malachy's centrefielder Morgan Gavigan sits in joint second on the scoring charts alongside Forde. However, his notable contribution of 1-8 during his club's fixture against Caulry was not enough to secure victory.

St Loman's John Heslin and The Downs sharp shooter Luke Loughlin are familiar inclusions on the overall scoring charts with tallies of 0-16 and 2-08 respectively.

The third round of Westmeath senior football championship fixtures takes place over the weekend of August 22.
