Athlone Town to face Shamrock Rovers in Women's FAI Cup semi-final

Athlone Town will play Shamrock Rovers in the Sports Direct Women's FAI Cup semi-final following the draw on Tuesday afternoon.

Colin Fortune's charges will travel to Tallaght Stadium on the weekend of September 14 for the final four fixture with an opportunity to secure a place in the showpiece fixture for the fourth consecutive year.

Athlone Town won the prized silverware in 2023 but were defeated by Shelbourne in the finals of 2022 and 2024.

Athlone Town secured heir place in the semi-final following a 1-0 away victory over Peamount United, midfielder Aoife O'Connor with the all important goal.

In the second semi-final Bohemians will have home advantage in their tie against Treaty United.

Both games will be televised live on TG4.
