'Wellies, jackets, spare clothes, the whole lot': Unsettled weather for Electric Picnic

Unfortunately, if you're heading to Stradbally for Electric Picnic this year, weather conditions are likely to not be as favourable as they were the previous two years.

Unsettled and cooler weather is set to take over from the recent warm days with their patchy sunshine and minimal rainfall.

Speaking to BreakingNews.ie, a spokesperson for Met Éireann said: "It's looking unsettled for the weekend, so unfortunately for anyone going to Electric Picnic, it looks like there's plenty of showers, plenty of rain on the way.

"Low pressure systems just feeding in from the Atlantic. The driest of conditions at the moment, although this could change, looks like Friday evening, Friday night, into Saturday morning.

"But then further spells of rain, showers are feeding in. It'll be cooler than we've had recently too. Maximum temperatures look in and around the mid-teens, dropping then maybe to the low teens by night.

"Maybe just 10/11 degrees lowest temperatures, but fairly unsettled, breezy at times. So not the best forecast.

"With plenty of rain in and around the Electric Picnic area, [people need] wellies, jackets, spare clothes, the whole lot. It isn't going to be the nicest weather, it's looking fairly unsettled so just be prepared for that."

On Thursday, low pressure is likely to remain in charge, so the unsettled weather will continue with blustery westerly winds ushering a few showers.

Met Éireann said the showers could be heavy at times. It will be a little cooler too with highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.

At this point, current models would indicate that low pressure will stay on Friday, leaving another very unsettled day with showers and blustery winds for the western half of the country.

However, there will be slightly improved conditions further east. Temperatures will stay cool with highs in the mid-teens.

Early Saturday morning looks to be mainly dry, but showers will kick off around 10am and continue until mid-afternoon.

The evening and night time may be dry. Temperatures will range from 13 to 17 degrees.

Sunday will be littered with light showers and patchy sunshine.

Temperatures are set to range from 13 to 16 degrees.
