Athlone writer features on multicultural video series

An Athlone resident features on a new Irish Writers Centre video series, 'Dublin: One City, Many Stories', which celebrates Ireland’s multicultural literary landscape.

Originally from Malaysia and now living in Athlone, Amy Abdullah Barry features in the latest episode, 'An Island of Many Nations'.

Amy is the author of 'Flirting with Tigers' and is well known locally for organising poetry and music events in Athlone, including regular nights at the Dean Crowe Theatre and the Athlone Springs Hotel.

The episode explores identity, belonging and creativity through the voices of writers who have made Ireland their home, and Amy’s contribution adds a wonderful Midlands perspective to the conversation.
