Athlone's Winter Pride to close with Charity Gig for Gaza

Athlone's Heartlands Pride Winter Pride event will come to a close this weekend with the Charity Gig for Gaza.

Taking place in the Dean Crowe Theatre on Friday, November 14, from 8pm, the gig is raising funds for the Palestinian Red Crescent through performances by Liadh, Darren O'Hara, Used 2B Cool, Luain, and What's That Smell.

It follows an exciting week of events, which ran from Wednesday, November 5 to Sunday, November 9.

The packed schedule included low-key meetups in Café Nero on Wednesday, November 5, and a Pride Breakfast in Gertie Brownes on Saturday, November 8.

On the more tantalizing side of things, the festival saw Athlone's Michelle Jinks, AKA Miss Memphis Shell, hosting a burlesque workshop on Saturday, as well as a pride market hosted in Dead Centre Brewing, followed by pride cocktails.

Luan Gallery also joined in on the celebrations, hosting the Winter Pride Art Exhibition, which will run until Sunday, November 16.

Tickets for the Charity Gig for Gaza can be purchased for €15 plus booking fee at https://www.deancrowetheatre.com/dean_event/gig-for-gaza-heartlands-pride-winter-festival/
