Ballinahown bus shelter "not a priority"

The installation of a bus shelter in Ballinahown is not a priority, the members of Athlone-Moate Municipal District have been told.

The question was raised by Cllr John Dolan at the November meeting of the Municipal District, as to when a bus shelter would be installed in the village.

In a written response the council read: "Ballinahown is currently not on the Municipal District priority list for the next phase for bus shelter provision which it is hoped will commence next year subject to availability of bus shelters from the NTA's shelter provider.

"Ballinahown can be considered for the following phase subject to the Municipal District's priority list for shelter installation and local agreement regarding the location."
