Cyclist (70s) dies after being hit by truck in Co Dublin
A cyclist has died after he was hit by a truck in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, on Monday.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision on Dublin Street at 12:40 pm.
A man in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.
The scene remains preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road is currently closed.
Local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of Dublin Street (R132), Balbriggan, Co. Dublin on Monday 16th March 2026 between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
