Roscommon name team for opening championship fixture

Roscommon minor football manager Shane Moran has named his starting team for the county's Connacht championship fixture against Sligo this evening (Friday).

The reigning provincial champions travel to Tubbercurry to play the hosts in an opening round fixture which will throw-in at 5pm.

Clubs from south of the county are well represented in the starting team with Clann na nGael's Zac Mullally listed to play as goalkeeper.

St Brigid's club player and team captain Tadhg Fallon has been selected to play at full-back with Colm Fitzgerald St Dominic's starting at left corner-back.

Two Padraig Pearses players, Jack Brooks and Enda Browne, have been included on the half back line, while Clann na nGael's Bobby Lenehan and Joshua Coyne from St Brigid's are listed to start in the attack (see team list and subs below).

Roscommon will play their first home fixture in the provincial championship on Friday next (March 27) when they host Galway in King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, at 5.30pm.

They then travel to Castlebar to play Mayo on Friday, April 3, before completing their round robin fixtures against Leitrim on Friday, April 10.
