Plan to open bar at Athlone Town stadium

Athlone Town Football Club is seeking permission to open a public bar at the stadium in Lissywollen.

The club recently lodged a planning application with Westmeath County Council seeking approval for a change of use of the existing club shop to a public licensed lounge/bar at the stadium.

The application will also include the provision for additional storage rooms for the proposed public licensed lounge/bar.

The applicant, Athlone Town Football Club, is described as the owner of the site.

A decision on the planning application is expected by late May.
