Powerful asylum seeker film to be shown in Tuar Ard Arts Centre
Souleymane’s Story comes to the big screen in Moate's Tuar Ard Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 14, at 8pm.
This powerful and compassionate drama follows Souleymane, an asylum seeker from Guinea trying to survive day-to-day life in Paris.
As he navigates homelessness, precarious work and an uncertain future, the film offers a deeply human look at life on the margins of society.
Led by an outstanding performance from Abou Sangaré, the film has received strong international recognition, including awards at the Cannes Film Festival and the European Film Awards.
It is a quiet, thought-provoking piece of cinema that stays with you long after it ends.
The 2024 film was directed by Boris Lojkine, and will be shown in French, Fula and Maninka with English subtitles.
