Kiltoom school's pupils set for All Ireland quiz final in Dublin

After performing exceptionally well in the regional qualifying rounds, the junior quiz team from Ballybay Central National School in Kiltoom has secured a place in the Credit Union All Ireland Quiz Final this weekend.

Réiltín, Annabel, Daithí and Eve will be traveling to the RDS in Dublin this Sunday, April 19, to represent the school on a national stage, an accomplishment that reflects the hard work and preparation of both the pupils, teachers and parents.

School principal Arthur Geraghty said Ballybay CNS is having a busy and productive year, marked by several notable achievements across academics, sports and the arts.

Also this coming Saturday, April 18, the school's choir has been invited to perform alongside the St Brigid’s Community Choir at the St Brigid’s GAA Centre.

This collaboration offers the students a great chance to participate in a local musical event.

On the athletics front, the FAIS 5-a-side boys' soccer team has progressed successfully and will compete in the county final in Lecarrow this month. The other teams – girls’ and boys’ – played with passion and narrowly missed out.

The school’s environmental efforts are also continuing as it works toward its 12th Green Flag. These efforts are supported by a wide range of activities ongoing in the school.

These include the school's orchestra thanks to Music Generation, Trash Fash recycling to design, Lá Glas, Active Flag activities, concerts, and cross country running, to mention but a few.
