Local GAA club launches community walking initiative

Caulry GAA Club, based in the Mount Temple/Baylin area of Athlone, has launched a new community walking initiative aimed at bringing its community together every week at its walking track.

The initiative is called 'Let's Move More' and its first outing took place yesterday morning (Thursday, April 30).

A large crowd gathered for the walk and after its success, and discussions with participants, the walk will now take place every Wednesday morning at 10am. The change from Thursday to Wednesday morning is to accommodate as many local people as possible.

The club said that the walk is suitable for young or old, retired, or parents with buggies, and that all are welcome to attend to 'get your steps in and have a chat'.
